Milford ISD

At Milford ISD, safety is always our top priority for our students, staff, and community.
As an added protection, Milford ISD has partnered with Perry Weather to begin using a lightning and temperature monitoring system located at the Milford ISD football stadium. It will also monitor our baseball and softball fields.

The system will automatically notify Milford ISD administration of impending weather risks within 10 miles of our community.

⚡ Lightning Detection
If a lightning strike is detected within 10 miles of the stadium, the district and surrounding community will hear a siren, followed by a verbal message to move inside a building.
During outdoor Milford ISD events, practices, and competitions, the system will automatically begin a 30-minute countdown.

If no additional lightning is detected within 10 miles during that time, a message will announce that the event may now continue.

For community members, this means lightning is no longer detected within 10 miles of Milford.


🌡 High Temperature Alerts
For Milford ISD events occurring in excessive heat, a siren will sound followed by a message for athletes to leave the competition field.

ℹ Important Notes

The system will only be active during certain times each day, and only when students, staff, or community members are present for a regular school day or a school event.

This system is NOT an outdoor warning siren for tornadoes.

Milford ISD will strictly enforce the state-adopted cell phone policy:

📵 All student phones must be turned in before 1st period.
📅 Devices will be returned at the end of the school day.
❌ Personal laptops, iPads, and other personal electronics are not allowed.

🚗 Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures 🚗 Drop Off 📍 Location: Third Avenue (One-way street — please follow traffic flow) ⏰ Students may enter the building starting at 7:10 AM ➡ All students must enter under the awning ⏱ Elementary students arriving after 7:40 AM must be checked in at the front office — parents must bring an ID to sign them in. 🚫 There is no parking in the front lot during drop-off — this is reserved for staff parking and bus parking. Pick Up 📍 Location: Third Avenue 👩‍🏫 Elementary students will stay with their class until their car arrives or a parent picks them up from their teacher. 🚫 There is no parking in the school parking lot during pick up — buses will be loading here. 🚫 Please avoid parking along Third Avenue for safety. ✅ Visitor parking is available if needed.
